Hey folks, sorry about the missed updates, the truth was that I wanted
to put up a new Pimpy wallpaper the next time I made an update. It was
part of an idea I had to sort of do a little something extra on the
first of every month. The thing was that I couldn't figure out how to
do some graffiti art for the title image, so if anyone has any recommendations
it would be great if you left me something on the Forum.
So I saw Ratatouille!
I love it, I think it might be the best Pixar movie either. My bro still
thinks that Incredibles and Monsters Inc were better movies, and I think
he makes a good argument. Those movies had a lot of action, and Ratatouille's
story is a more domestic story. It's largely about cooking after all.
I suppose the reason I liked it so much, the way that it was able to
push to the top, was that it was such an amazing sensory experience.
Because so much of the film is from a "rat's-eye-view", the
level of detail that Pixar achieves has never been more evident. This
is a movie that must be seen on the big screen. And what made this movie
really stand out even more so, was how they were able to evoke an actual
sense of FLAVOR. This movie made me very very hungry. Eat a big meal
before you go.
Okay so Transformers.
Truth be told, this movie is not about the acting or the story or whatever.
This movie is about seeing GIANT ROBOTS and a really hot chick and just...
adrenaline... okay wow, start over.
What makes this movie so accessible is the performance of Shia LaBeouf,
or at the very least, his character in the film. His role, he's this
very relatable character and he just draws you into the world of the
film and makes you believe it and once you do... just wow. This movie
just picks up a huge chunk of awesome and smacks you in the head with
it for two and a half hours. A thrilling way to spend an evening. The
one goal of this movie is to excite you, to keep it's audience jazzed
up the whole time, and it succeeds. I recommend seeing it sooner rather
than later, as there's nothing like having a full theater audience feeding
off each other's energy. I went to a midnight showing on Monday and
people applauded multiple times. See this on the big screen, the effect
just won't be the same on your tv.
Other movies coming up that I wanna see are the Simpsons and Harry Potter.
Can you believe this is the fifth one already? Personally I thought
that the fourth was the best so far, hopefully they'll keep getting
darker and more exciting! As for the Simpsons, it's about time they
made a movie, I mean the show's been on since before time itself. Whether
it's actually any good remains to be seen, but I'm optomistic.
